On 11 October, it was announced on the magazine’s official Twitter account that the popular manga “HUNTER x HUNTER” (Hunter x Hunter) by manga artist Togashi Yoshihiro will resume serialization from issue 47 of Weekly Shonen Jump, which goes on sale on 24 October. It was last published in issue 52, released on 26 November 2018, and will return after an absence of about three years and 11 months.
Issue 47, when the serialization will resume, will feature episode 391, in which the mafia war behind the throne succession battle intensifies massively. In addition, the latest comic, volume 37, will be released on 4 November.
At the end of the 52nd issue of the same magazine, which announced the suspension, Togashi commented: ‘I’ve finished the next 10 weeks’ worth of names, so I’ll continue working on the manuscript while consulting with my health and the situation.’ He commented, “I’ve finished the next 10 weeks’ worth of names. At the end of episode 390, he wrote: “I will be taking a break from the next issue for a while. As soon as the resumption is decided, it will be announced in this magazine”.
The series has been suspended several times, most recently in April 2006, and resumed in September after five and a half months, but was suspended again two months later in November. This announcement marks the resumption of serialization after three years and 11 months.
The series, which began in 1998, is an adventure fantasy in which the main character, the boy Gon, goes on a journey with his best friend Kirua and other friends. Currently, the Dark Continent Arc is being depicted, in which Kurapika, the members of the Phantom Brigade, and other characters clash with each other on a ship aiming to travel to an uncharted continent.
