”ONE PIECE FILM RED” No.1 for 2 consecutive weeks!　Three new releases including “TANG TANG” ranked in the top three.

The domestic movie rankings for August 13-14 (National Weekend Box Office Results, provided by Kogyo Tsushinsha) have been announced. This week, “ONE PIECE FILM RED” (Toei), which started the week with the best opening performance of the year, maintained its No. 1 position with 1.03 million viewers and 1.497 billion yen in box office revenue in its second weekend. The film’s cumulative total has already surpassed 4.62 million in attendance and 6.474 billion yen in box office revenue.

　The ranking of the top five films remained unchanged from the previous week, with “Jurassic World: The New Reign” (Toho Towa) at No. 2, drawing 292,000 people and grossing 453 million yen over the two days on Saturday and Sunday, for a total of 2.69 million people and 4.036 billion yen. (Toho Towa) drew 159,000 people and grossed 200 million yen over the two-day period on Saturday and Sunday, bringing its total to 2.78 million people and 3.378 billion yen.

The following films were “Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land” (Toho/Sony) in fourth place, with a cumulative total of 2.84 million viewers and 4 billion yen, and “Top Gun: Maverick” (Towa Pictures) in fifth place, with a cumulative total of 6.93 million viewers and 10.9 billion yen.

　Among new releases, “TANG Tang” (Warner), directed by Takahiro Miki and starring Kazuya Ninomiya, adapted from the British book “Robot in the Garden” by Deborah Install, came in at No. 6. Ken, a no-good man whose wife kicked him out of the house for playing too many video games, meets Tang, a lost robot who has lost his memory, and his halted life begins to shine brightly.　

In seventh place was “Pokémon the Movie: Latias and Latios, the Guardians of the City of Water” (Toho), which was released as part of the “Summer Memories, Let’s Get It! The fifth animated feature film depicts the adventures of Satoshi and his sidekick Pikachu, who aspire to become Pokemon masters. Directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, the film features the voices of Rika Matsumoto and Ikue Otani, as well as guest appearances by Uno Kanda, Yumiko Shaku, and Yuzo Gucci.
