It has been announced that the TV anime “Slam Dunk SLAM DUNK”, originally written by Takehiko Inoue and broadcast from 1993 to 1996, will be distributed on YouTube “Toei Animation Museum Channel” one episode per day starting on January 10.
This will be the first time that the full-length TV anime version, excluding the first episode, will be released on YouTube, and a total of 101 episodes are scheduled to be distributed. It will be distributed at noon every day, and each episode will be available for a limited period of two weeks.
Slam Dunk” is a boys’ manga about high school basketball that depicts Hanamichi Sakuragi, a wild newcomer to the Shohoku High School basketball team, as he clashes with teammate Kaede Ryukawa and rapidly develops his talent through games against the best.
It was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (published by Shueisha) from 1990 to 1996, and its TV anime became a huge hit, triggering a basketball boom.
A new animated film “THE FIRST SLAM DUNK,” directed and written by the original author, Takehiko Inoue, is scheduled to be released on December 3 this year.
