The latest “ONE PIECE” movie took the top spot with the best opening performance in Toei’s history!

The 15th feature film “ONE PIECE FILM RED,” for which original author Eiichiro Oda served as overall producer for the first time since “ONE PIECE FILM GOLD” released in 2016, topped the nationwide movie attendance rankings on August 6-7, 2012, with a box office hit the opening weekend of nearly 1.58 million on the first Saturday and Sunday, topping 2.254 billion yen.

The film opened to 1.58 million viewers on Saturday and Sunday of its first week and grossed over 2.254 billion yen to take the top spot.

This number is the highest opening box office of the year, and is 178% higher than the three-day figure of the previous film, “ONE PIECE STAMPEDE,” and is also the highest opening attendance and box office revenue of all time for Toei, the film’s distributor, a record-breaking result.
