The revival screening of the anime film “THE FIRST SLAM DUNK”, directed and written by Takehiko Inoue who also authored the original manga, has been set for January 23. The theaters and screening times have been announced.
The revival screening will take place at 107 theaters nationwide, with screenings at 10 am and 7 pm.
On this day, screenings in IMAX and Dolby Cinema will also be revived. Tickets will go on sale starting January 10, at midnight on the web through each theater’s official website, and at theater box offices when they open. Check Toei’s official website for participating theaters.
“THE FIRST SLAM DUNK” opened on December 3, 2022, and ended its run on August 31, 2023.
Centered on the past story of Shohoku High point guard Ryota Miyagi, known for his cerebral plays and lightning-fast speed to manipulate opponents, it depicts Shohoku High’s struggle against champion Kingo Industrial High at the Interhigh tournament.
