TRIGUN STAMPEDE, a new original anime of the manga “Trigun (TRIGUN)” by Yasuhiro Naito, has been announced. The anime adaptation is scheduled for 2023.
Orange, which has produced “BEASTARS,” “Godzilla S.P.,” and “Jewel of the Land,” will be in charge of production.
The latest information will be revealed at a talk event during Anime Expo, which will be held on July 2 (Sat.) at 8:00 p.m. local time in Los Angeles, USA.
The talk event will feature Yasuhiro Naito, the author of the original manga, designer Koji Tajima, producer Sumiken Waki and producer Yoshihiro Watanabe of Orange, which is in charge of production, and producer Katsuhiro Takei of Toho.
Gun Action with an Unusual Bounty Hunter
Trigun” is a gun-action work serialized by manga artist Yasuhiro Naito in “Monthly Shonen Captain” (Tokuma Shoten) in 1995 and in “Young King Hours” (Shonen Gahosha) in 1997.
Set on a desert planet in a harsh environment, the story revolves around the pacifist bounty hunter “Humanoid Typhoon,” or Vash the Stampede.
His style is strongly influenced by American comic books, and he has many fans overseas. The series has been published in three volumes “Trigun” and 14 volumes as a sequel, “Trigun Maximum.
An animated TV series was released in 1998, followed by the theatrical anime “TRIGUN Badlands Rumble” in 2010. Voice actor Masaya Onosaka played the role of Vash the Stampede, and Madhouse handled production.
