Naoki Saito, an authorized illustrator for the hit card game “Pokemon Card,” updated his Twitter page on January 14.
He expressed his feelings about his autographed cards being resold at high prices.
A card store in Akihabara, Tokyo, reported on Twitter on January 13 that it had just received a card signed by Naoki Saito.
The price was introduced as “159,800,000 yen” and it was written, “This is the only card in the world. Please visit our store and take a look”.
In addition to his signature, the card was addressed to “Mr. AKIRA! Fans were outraged, calling it “too much” and “disgusting”.
Mr. Saito reported on his Twitter page, “Regarding the resale of the autograph card, I had taken thorough measures to put your name on it, but it was unexpected.
I have no right to say anything about it because it’s my property, and it’s the store’s decision whether or not to buy it, but I’m simply afraid to go out in public for a while because I’m afraid. I remember your face! I’m going to be afraid for a while and have a hard time going out in public.
