Choshu Riki<\/a> will be the subject of a short animation series, “Ganbare! Choshu-Kun” which will be aired from August 1 on the morning information program “Sukkiri” broadcast by Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV). Choshu Riki himself will provide the voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ganbare! Choshu Riki”, a wrestler who led Japan’s pro-wrestling boom and is currently active in variety shows, will be voiced by a cute and rambunctious elementary school student. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set in an elementary school in a specific location in Japan, the film comedically depicts the slightly unusual daily life of Choshu-Kun and his classmates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is produced by ODDJOB Inc. and directed by Yuta Koizumi, and the character design is based on the “Go! Go! Kitchen Sentai Cookroon” on NHK E-television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Choshu Riki, Tomohiro Sekimachi of the comedy duo Rice will play Izumi-Kun, a classmate, and Tomomi Nishimura will appear in the cast. Koji Kato, announcer Erina Iwata, and announcer Keisuke Mori, who are the MCs of “Sukkiri,” will also appear as school friends Kato-Kun, Iwata-san, and Mori-Kun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The animation will be on-air from Monday to Friday at around 10:15 in conjunction with the “Sukkiri” broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of this animation is astonishing. How could Choshu Riki, that professional wrestler with the droll voice, be made into an anime? It is too interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
